Billy Malak-Guru-Engineer in Chief

Billy Malak

Billy Malak is a senior currently studying Aerospace Engineering at University of Illinois. Along with his interest in 3D printing, Billy also enjoys sharing his knowledge with the customers and visitors of the MakerLab in workshops and open hours. He began as a volunteer in the Lab in Fall of 2015, and was hired on as a staff member in the Spring of 2016. Billy hopes to continue to foster curiosity in the industry of 3D printing and guide those who are interested to pursue unique design ideas. He also loves fixing things and thus we call him, Engineer-in-Chief. Besides university classes and being a part of the MakerLab staff, Billy is also a member of the Marching Illini and Illini athletic bands. He continues to experiment with how 3D printed products can apply to the field of music. Along with his work in the Makerlab, he also researches with the Aerospace department on campus.

Linxi Liu-Guru

I am a senior student majoring in Accountancy and Finance with Statistics minor. I jointed Makerlab last semester as a volunteer and got the chance to become a guru this semester. I enjoy exploring the unknown and that’s why I am interested in 3D printing, a cutting-edge technology that I believe some day will change human’s life totally. I am also exploring possibilities to improve efficiency in auditing with data analysis tools as well as 3D printing, if possible, but nothing is impossible.
