Illinois MakerLab - Making Things Possible

Prior to spring break, Illinois MakerLab encountered a 3D printing order that focused on printing lids and molds of wells that were extremely small and precise. The small nature of the 3D printing product created troubles when we were printing. We failed multiple times and changed multiple printers for the one order. After multiple attempts and failures, we finally found a stable way to print out the order and successfully printed the order for more than three times!

This product was extremely important to the maker - Karla Patricia Ramos-Cruz. She said, “The neurons that are culture in micro electrode array are expose. I designed “caps” (lids) to cover the cells and avoid contamination during experimentation. Also, I designed some molds of wells that will be used to create silicone wells that subsequently will be use to culture cells and do experiments.”

This is Illinois MakerLab. We put in our full efforts in helping our clients to produce what they want in a high quality way through 3D printing. Even with multiple failures and errors during the printing process, we never give up our efforts, and we are here to MAKE THINGS POSSIBLE!
