Block I Keychains for Gies Supply Chain Graduates
Following our keychain run for the MSBA cohort last fall, another Gies program came to us with the same idea. Emma Fellabaum from the Supply Chain Management degree program ordered thirty custom Block I keychains reading “Gies SCM Grad” for the graduating class.
A Repeatable Format
The Block I keychain has quietly become one of our most requested items. The shape is instantly recognizable, it prints quickly, and the text panel can be swapped for any program, cohort, or year. Once the base model exists, producing a new variant is largely a matter of editing the lettering and choosing a filament color.
Thirty Pieces, One Batch
Thirty units is a comfortable batch size for us: enough to fill a print bed efficiently, small enough to finish without disrupting the rest of the queue. Keychains are also forgiving to print, with a flat profile, no supports required, and a short run time per unit.
Cohort Gifts and Program Branding
Academic programs across campus use the lab for exactly this kind of small-run branded item:
- Graduation and cohort keepsakes
- Welcome gifts for incoming students
- Conference and recruiting giveaways
- Awards and recognition pieces
