123 students attended our Online Summer Camps this year!

Our online summer camps were a great way for young students to take on a new skill with our beginner 3D Design and Printing workshops.

Students were able to learn Tinkercad, SketchUp, and connect with students virtually!

expanded our reach internationally and nationally

Due to the virtual environment, the Illinois MakerLab was fortunate to have camp attendees that were located in the United Kingdom and Canada and also attendees in Georgia and West Virginia.

We have also been lucky to fulfill orders being shipped out to California, Michigan, India, United Kingdom, Canada, and more!

PRINTED 4.5K PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT ITEMS

During the summer, our gurus based in the Champaign-Urbana area dedicated their time with printing PPE that was delivered to local hospitals.

In Fall 2020, we became a chapter of Makers for COVID-19 where our volunteer Duncan Cleary led a team of volunteers in printing face shields and ear savers to be donated to local organizations in the Champaign-Urbana Area. We hope to continue our outreach with PPE in 2021!

Here we have Duncan Cleary being highlighted in the December 2020 newsletter published by CU at Home (page 6). His team was able to deliver 50 face shields and 50 ear savers to their shelter.
