Volunteering at the MakerLab
The Illinois MakerLab is privileged to have volunteers that help us with various aspects of lab operations, workshops, internal marketing, social media, and more. We always welcome interest from people who are looking to help out with our mission to help the entire Champaign-Urbana community to Learn, Make, and Share! Volunteers at the lab aid in running day-to-day activities and events while developing new skills in 3D Printing, 3D Design, 3D Scanning, and more!
Additionally, we are happy to convert some of our volunteers into part-time employees based on our needs and the availability of positions. This includes working as a MakerLab Guru, who is the individual in charge of working our open hours and running our 3D printing, scanning, and design workshops. Many of our current Gurus started as volunteers with us.
Volunteers get to work on special projects, besides helping with daily operations and events.
